What are your personal memories of September 11th?
Being woken up by my husband who quickly and gently summarized the bad news.
Waking up Really Fast as my brain processed the information. Immediately calling my parents in Connecticut. My mom had already turned off the TV after she saw the second plane hit -- it was just too much to deal with.
Going into work because the routine was better than watching CNN. Reading email from a co-worker who was intending to leave for Europe that day.
Sending email hugs to lots of people because I felt the need to reach out to everyone I knew.
Spending the next few weeks in a daze of unreality, jolted awake often by the realization of what had happened. Searching for stories about families in my hometown who were affected (lots of Cantor Fitzgerald folks in Wilton).
Wondering where my parents had put the ceramic Twin Towers I made in grade school.

What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?
The imposed title of this posting implies something different from the question! Best Way and Favorite Way are not the same thing.
Favorite? I still love the idea of writing letters with a nice pen and thick stationary. Best way: nothing works very well for me now. Phone and text messaging interrupts, I've gotten bad about email responses. I'm not in touch with a lot of friends but I think of them often. The best way to reach me is to come to my office at work and sit down for a nice chat (when I'm not in a meeting). But that only works for people who are allowed in my building.

Sandra Boynton's Philadelphia Chickens. It's like a Broadway musical from 1980's greeting card characters. That's life with a toddler.
Tell us a little something about your first car. Do you have any photos you can share?

My first car was a rather boring blue Ford Escort that I sold to a friend after about 5 years. But I liked my second car, a Subaru, so much that I actually made it a web page (wow that's old). I like the part where I wrote about the fog lights "like I ever drive in fog!" since I've now moved to the land of mist and millions of Subarus. I'm still driving this car although everyone tells me to buy a new one.
What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?
Wow, I actually can't remember. We had a few years of constant weddings, weddings, showers, weddings. I can't remember the last batch. The past few years it's all been baby shower after baby shower after baby shower. Oh, and the actual babies.
